Inside a Weekend PTE Class: What Happens in 3 Hours (2026)

Quick answer: A weekend PTE class at Dream English runs 3 hours, 3pm to 6pm Sydney time, live online in a small group. You practise the tasks out loud, get corrected on the spot, learn a shortcut for each task, and leave with notes plus a homework plan for the week. Every class is recorded.

Who the weekend PTE class suits

  • People working or studying during the week who can only give real focus on a weekend.
  • Students who have sat PTE before and keep missing one skill, usually Speaking or Writing.
  • Students outside Sydney or outside Australia. The class is online, so you join from anywhere.
  • Anyone who wants feedback from a teacher, not just an AI score.

Before class

You get the topic for the session and the practice set on the platform, so you arrive knowing what we’re covering.

Hour 1 of the weekend PTE class: Speaking, out loud

We start with Speaking because it moves the most marks. Everyone speaks, not just the teacher.

  • Format first: one flexible structure for Describe Image and Re-tell Lecture that works for any image or lecture, so you don’t memorise a rigid template.
  • Live corrections: each student answers and I give feedback straight away on pace, pauses and pronunciation. As I tell every group: “Don’t take this personal. I’m just highlighting everybody’s mistakes.”
  • Read Aloud consistency: I demonstrate the same pace from the first word to the last, then you try it.

Hour 2: Reading and Writing

  • Fill in the Blanks shortcuts: how to work out what kind of word fits (an object, an action, a description) before looking at the options.
  • Timing: how long to spend on each question type so you don’t run out of time.
  • Writing: Summarize Written Text and Essay with flexible language, checked for spelling and grammar. Since August 2025 human reviewers double-check these tasks, so memorised templates are a risk (why).

Hour 3: Listening and your plan

  • Write from Dictation: the longest sentences, where marks are most often lost.
  • Your homework plan for the week: for example, “spend 45 minutes to an hour this week just on blanks”, plus daily Speaking and WFD.
  • Notes: “I’m gonna send you all of this by email along with today’s notes.”

Between classes

  • Homework checking on your Speaking and Writing
  • Personal WhatsApp support from your teacher
  • Mock tests with feedback before you book
  • Support until you pass

New to the test format? Pearson’s PTE Academic test format page lists every task type. In class we focus on the ones that move the most marks.

What students say

  • “It’s really great how you are taking care of all of us remotely, the same as you do for classroom students.” (Gaurav)
  • “Got my desired score. Just want to boost up anyone still struggling: it’s doable.” (Kazi)
